Journal #2- Pinhole Photography

"Here Lays The Dead"

This picture was taken inside looking through the window on the second floor for about 15-30 seconds. We had two other attempts but I think this one turned out the best. We had troubles with the other two photos because they both turned out black. I think it was either because of a light leak or too much lighting was exposed. Before I edited this photo you could barely see what it was, it was all blurry. But after I used photoshop you can clearly tell what it is and I really liked how it turned out. Overall I like the dymatic in this picture, it gives it a creepy old mysterious look to it.

Journal #1 Show Me Your Culture

Snowy Yard by Kelsey Wright

I chose to take a picture of  my backyard because I usually spend most of my time out there, whether its swimming and tanning in summer or building snow forts or playing with dogs in the winter.

A Girl Loves Her Makeup by Kelsey Wright

I spend a lot of my time doing my makeup or looking at makeup, I love it. I love how you can express different expressions and emotions through makeup. For example, I can use makeup to create a natural look then do a dramatic / out there look just by the way I put makeup on. It also allows you to feel more confident and comfortable with yourself.

 Avalanche by Kelsey Wright

For this journal I wanted to take a picture of my dog Avalanche, because I am always with him. Whether it's going for a run with him or just laying with him.  He has so much personality and is so gentle but yet so protective of me and my family. And this picture describes his personality perfectly.

Big Ball of Wild by Kelsey Wright

Horseback riding has always been a part of my life and this is a picture I took of one of the horses I always would ride during my lessons. I've spent so much time at the barn, it gets my mind off everything  and helps me just focus on the barn and riding.

My Typical Morning by Kelsey Wright

Every morning I find I do the same thing, have a tea and a bowl of cereal. I am usually always on my phone in the morning, listening to music or checking messages.

Getting to Know Your Style- Assignment #1

Abraham Lake, Alberta by Darwin Wiggett
Style: Landscape

I really like this photo because it leads the eye in certain directions. It starts at the bubbles in the ice and then your eye follows the massive crack in the ice up to the beginning of the mountain. Then leads your eye up to the clouds in the sky. This picture shows how peaceful and calm the nature is, seeing this picture makes me want to visit Abraham Lake. This photo also emphasizes on contrast, there are different shades of blue and the light in this picture emphasizes the structure of the mountains. I think the photographer, Darwin Wiggett chose a great spot to take the picture.
